"When I first contacted Emma, my life was a constant struggle. My self-esteem was at rock bottom along with my confidence and I felt too embarrassed to share my concerns with friends. 

I had no goals in my work or home life, other than to survive each day. I longed for a partner but couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to join my world of turmoil, so wasn’t focussed on looking.

"I used to lack confidence and self-belief. Not that long ago, I was in a job that sapped the life and energy out of me and I felt worthless, I most definitely lived to work.

I suffered from panic attacks and it felt like a never-ending black hole. I didn’t want to see my friends as I felt like I had nothing positive to contribute, my spare time was spent worrying about work, when my mum asked me where her daughter had gone, I knew I needed help – that’s when I turned to Emma Ward.

"After a tough year at work, and a long period of time where my confidence and self belief had been chipped away, I was at an all time low.

FIONA NOW FEELs more confident and back in control of her life

"Before signing up to Emma’s 3 month’s coaching programme, I was struggling with low self-esteem and lacked confidence. I wanted to find a balance in my life where I wasn’t constantly questioning myself and comparing myself to other people around me. I wanted to be confident with decisions that I made and to be in control of my life. 

I had used a counsellor before but not a coach. I thought it would be a painful experience so I was surprised that I didn’t come away from the sessions feeling drained. Instead, I felt peaceful and empowered that the route to change was in my hands.

After the first session with Emma, I was confident that I wouldn’t be cast adrift to deal with any demons alone. Emma put a safety net in place that I trusted. It was clear that we would work at a pace that suited me and on issues that I wanted to address. I would be the one that would be making the changes using strategies that she offered. I also appreciated how Emma listened and accommodated my feelings, understanding why I might not want to go down a particular road.

I now feel like a ‘new me’. I’ve changed. I’m now more confident about decisions that I make. I’m a stronger person in my relationship with my husband. I don’t walk around ‘beating’ myself up any more. I’m more at peace with myself now.

If me inner voice does start to nag at me, I now have strategies to switch it off. I do things my way and I’m happy with that. I have more time to myself and can find more time to relax. I know that it’s OK to stop. When dealing with I now look at the whole picture and tackle things in short bursts rather than feeling defeated before I’ve even started.
